Halo: The Master Chief Collection hasn’t had the best track record, to say the least. Marred by severe multiplayer issues long after the game’s release, 343 Industries and Microsoft tried to placate loyal players by saying that they would eventually release Halo 3: ODST as a free add-on to the Master Chief Collection. Well, that time is almost upon us now after 343 Industries announced on Halo Waypoint that the remastered Halo 3: ODST would be dropping sometime next month, as well as a remake of the Relic multiplayer map from Halo 2. For the record, if you bought and played the Master Chief Collection between November 11th and December 19th, you will be eligible to get Halo 3: ODST for free.
343 Industries probably bit off a little more than it could chew releasing all four Halo games, despite only having made one of them, and expected all of it to work flawlessly. That said, we have to commend them for bothering to bring the franchise to the new Xbox One hardware, and Halo 5 looks like it’s shaping up to be a ripper of a game.
