Bungie: Your progress in Destiny will carry over to its sequel

It’s no secret that Bungie has made a 10-year commitment to the Destiny franchise, something which is still somewhat in its infancy with its first game. Despite this, it looks like Bungie has already started looking forward to Destiny‘s sequel and how the current game is going to affect subsequent games. Bungie Community Manager, David “DeeJ” Dague spoke with IGN and said that your progress in Destiny will carry over to its sequel. The idea behind this is that you will continue to grow and experience new things with your Guardian.

“The idea is that the Guardian you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure. If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time,” says DeeJ.

It’s definitely an intriguing idea and one which we’ll have to see pan out before we really know how good it is, but for those of you wondering about Bungie’s more immediate plans, you should know that Destiny‘s first DLC, The Dark Below, has just launched today. As in, you can play right now. As in, I’m going to play right now.

  1. It also sounds like a good way for them to get more people to buy the previous games. Not that that’s a big issue as its such an amazing game and everyone who owns an XBox One should have the original Destiny game 🙂
