When Telltale Games continued to promise that their latest game, the highly anticipated Game of Thrones video game, would definitely be released this year, we couldn’t help but wonder if the games studio was cutting it a little thin with just over a month left in the year. As it turns out, we had nothing to worry about as the studio today announced on its Twitter account that the game will launch starting on December 2nd and staggered depending on the platform. First cabs of the rank will be PC, Mac and PS4 on December 2nd, followed by Xbox One and Xbox 360 on December 3rd and iOS on December 4th. Perhaps unusually, the PS3 version will languish behind with a December 9th release date, and the Android version has only received a general “December” approximation.

Game of Thrones, the first episode of which is named Iron From Ice, will introduce players to the familiar world of Westeros somewhere between the third season of the TV show and the end of the fifth season. It will be interesting to see where Telltale takes the six-episode season as its TV adaptations are well known for fully capturing the respective atmospheres and emotions. All we know is we can’t wait till the 2nd.
