Apparently this is the season for game developers to close up shop. We reported just last week that Murdered: Soul Suspect developer Airtight Games was closing, and it appears, a much more well known and loved studio is shutting its doors as an independent studio. That studio is Neversoft, the people behind various Tony Hawk and Guitar Hero games, who will be absorbed into Infinity Ward, presumably to focus on Call of Duty for the foreseeable future. This farewell was a little more upbeat than Airtight Games’, however, as Neversoft employees tweeted some of the more iconic proceedings from their last day:

Burning your company’s logo and getting a giant knife; I’d say that’s a pretty good way to go out. Neversoft leaves behind a legacy that stretches from the Sega Saturn, through to the iconic Tony Hawk Pro Skater and Underground games, as well as Guitar Hero and Band Hero games. Thanks for all the fun, Neversoft.
