If you want something different!
Summary : Snazzy case that shows marks easily and slips around on hard surfaces.
What the one thing you want to do when you buy a snazzy new smartphone? Show it off to your friend’s maybe! There is a way to protect your new smartphone without hiding it and that’s the new Reveal case for the HTC One M8 from Griffin Technology.
The Griffin Reveal case for the HTC One M8 protects your phone by adding only about a millimeter to its size and with its clear back, still preserves the look of your shiny phone.
There really isn’t much to say about the Reveal case. Inside the box you’ll find just the case and not a lot else, not even any screen protection. If you ask me, any case should come with a screen protector. If you want to protect your phone, this also means the screen.
The outer edges of the case are made of poly-carbonate with an ultra-thin rubberized interior lining holding your phone firmly and offering a medium level of protection. The back is a single continuous piece of clear, hard plastic with just a couple of openings for your camera and flash. The top and bottom have small openings for your power buttons, USB port and headphone socket.
The case is fairly easy to install, snapping into place over the back of your HTC One M8. You do have to be a little careful on the top and bottom edges around the cut outs for the power buttons, etc. There is only a small amount of material on the edge around the hole and it felt like I was going to break it if I wasn’t careful. Once installed it fit like a glove. The phone felt good and protected in your hands and allows the back of your phone to show through to the outside world. It’s a nice design if you like that sort of thing.
The material is not tacky making it easy to slip your phone into your pocket, but this also means that your phone is going to slide around when you place it down on any surface either on its back of face down.
The Reveal cases for some other devices, such as the iPhone, offer a selection of colored bezels, which is nice, while the HTC One variant offers only the single colored black bezel.
I am a little concerned about the clear back as I could see it trapping dust and dirt and starting to look a little dirty over time. With the back begin so shiny I would think that it would start to show scratches fairly easily, but this is just a guess, only time would tell.
With a retail price of only $24.99, the case is not expensive compared to some others available today and it’s well worth considering for your everyday protection of your HTC On M8. If you want more information, be sure to head over to the Griffin store.
