Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege

Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege releases October 13th, 2015

The name Rainbow Six has somewhat faded into obscurity in the video game world, particularly given the booming popularity of competing franchises like Call of Duty and Battlefield, leaving Ubisoft without an entry in one of the biggest video game genres. Thankfully, it looks like Ubisoft is really to breach the first-person shooter market again with Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege for which it released an extremely ominous and technical official trailer – check it out: Unlike Battlefield or Call of Duty, Rainbow Six Siege looks like it’s going to be relying much more on gadgets and team tactics to achieve objectives, which is a welcome change to the run-and-gun tactics that have become the norm in more recent shooters. Perhaps most interesting is that Ubisoft is committing to have Rainbow Six Siege released this October – October 13th to be exact, which means it will be going head-to-head with the ...

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate debut trailer

The Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate debut trailer sets the scene in 1868 London

Ubisoft has finally given us what we’ve all been asking for: an assassin in a top hat. Just me? Anyway, Ubisoft has today unveiled its latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which has apparently done away with the oft-confusing numbering system again. The Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate debut trailer shows the protagonist, Jacob Frye, in London 1868 fighting for the working class, a Robin Hood of sorts. Check out the trailer below: Just from watching the trailer, Syndicate seems a little different than its predecessors, if not only for the inclusion of gadgets like the grappling hook. Only time will tell if its different enough to separate itself as a great game by itself or just another Assassin’s Creed game with a different skin. One thing that will be different is that you will spend part of the game playing as a woman, which is a nice change for ...

Halo: The Master Chief Collection

343 Industries: “Halo: The Master Chief Collection is definitely a black eye for us”

343 Industries has only had 2 major projects released since becoming stewards of the iconic Halo video game franchise. One was the very impressive Halo 4 on the Xbox 360 just before the new generation of consoles came into effect, and the other was Halo: The Master Chief Collection, a collection of every first-person shooter Halo game to date (except Halo: Reach) jam-packed into one game. As many of you will have heard, the latter was a pretty disastrous experience for everyone, the primary culprit being significant matchmaking and network issues. So much so that 343 Industries Franchise Development Director, Frank O’Connor, has admitted that “Halo: The Master Chief Collection is definitely a black eye for us”. It was no small task to combine all these games, but 343 Industries persisted. “I will say that the nature of The Master Chief Collection – you’ve got five different game engines, you’ve got different ...

"All Who Follow You" trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight

“All Who Follow You” trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight has dropped today

In case you haven’t heard, Rocksteady Studios and Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment really know how to make a Batman game. The third and last game in the Batman: Arkham series helmed by Rocksteady, Batman: Arkham Knight, is due for release in June and their latest trailer has dropped today to get those saliva ducts working. The “All Who Follow You” trailer for Batman: Arkham Knight shows plenty of destruction as the Arkham Knight and his army, with the help of many of Arkham’s favourite villains, wreck havoc in Gotham, and all that remains to stop him are Batman and his allies. Check out the trailer below: Ominous, to say the least. As you can see, the trailer shows a whole lot of FreeFlow Combat which has become a staple in these Batman games, but this time Batman’s not alone – Arkham Knight will also allow for “Dual Play” which will allow you ...

Halo 3: ODST

343 Industries says Halo 3: ODST will join the Master Chief Collection next month

Halo: The Master Chief Collection hasn’t had the best track record, to say the least. Marred by severe multiplayer issues long after the game’s release, 343 Industries and Microsoft tried to placate loyal players by saying that they would eventually release Halo 3: ODST as a free add-on to the Master Chief Collection. Well, that time is almost upon us now after 343 Industries announced on Halo Waypoint that the remastered Halo 3: ODST would be dropping sometime next month, as well as a remake of the Relic multiplayer map from Halo 2. For the record, if you bought and played the Master Chief Collection between November 11th and December 19th, you will be eligible to get Halo 3: ODST for free. 343 Industries probably bit off a little more than it could chew releasing all four Halo games, despite only having made one of them, and expected all of it to work flawlessly. ...

Star Wars: Battlefront trailer and details

The Force is strong in this one: Star Wars: Battlefront trailer and details have finally been dropped

We’re a bit slow on this one, but we’re no less excited. The Star Wars: Battlefront trailer and details have finally dropped during the Star Wars Experience convention, outlining parts of the game and giving us our first look at what the game is going to look like. And hopefully we’re not letting our enthusiasm blind us, but it looks fantastic so far – check out the trailer below if you haven’t seen it yet: Like the previous Battlefront entries, this reboot of Battlefront will involve large scale battles, including up to 40 players, and see the use of all manner of vehicles and machinery in the Rebels-v-Empire battles, including space battles between TIE. Also, as in Battlefront 2, players will be able to play as heroes of either side, such as Darth Vader, to try and turn the tide of the battle. The planets revealed so far which will host ...

the technomancer

I need this game in my life: The Technomancer is coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One in 2016

If everyone is honest, there’s a distinct lack of new video game IP these days that isn’t coming from indie developers. Fewer still are truly immersive RPG games that implore you to explore every nook and cranny in the game to get the full story. After finding out about The Technomancer, however, I’m hoping the wait is now over. Developed by Spiders Games and published by Focus Home Interactive, The Technomancer is an ambitious RPG set in a post-apocalyptic cyberpunk world set on Mars and follows the plight of a Technomancer whose past and future are on a collision course. What really caught my eye about The Technomancer was the description given about the game talking about the skill trees and dynamic story and conversations: The Technomancer will offer players action-oriented combat gameplay along four different skill trees, focusing on 3 different fighting styles and the destructive electric-focused powers of the Technomancers. ...

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is officially announced for PC, PS4 and Xbox One

Yesterday, the existence of Deus Ex sequel game, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, was leaked, but as it turns out, Square Enix was ready to announce the game anyway. Today, the publisher officially announced the game for PC, PS4 and Xbox One and dropped a sweet, cinematic trailer to help set the scene for the sequel to Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Check it out below: Am I the only one who hopes there is a Deus Ex movie one day? As expected, Mankind Divided takes place two years after the events of Human Revolution and takes a look at the world as the relationship between augmented humans and ‘normal’ humans degenerates into violence. Factions and terrorism are rife and our protagonist, Adam Jensen, finds himself amongst it, presumably where the player choices come into the game, where even the Illuminati looks to play a role in dictating the course of the story. ...

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is leaked, official announcement to follow on April 8th

Just when I was losing hope for a new Deus Ex title, a nice big ol’ leak hits the air waves. A new Square Enix game allegedly titled “Deus Ex: Mankind Divided” has been outed today and continues after the last Deus Ex title, Human Revolution. Set in 2029, two years after the events of Human Revolution, what started out a testy violence between ‘normal’ humans and augmented humans has broken out into all-out conflict and the story re-centers on protagonist, Adam Jensen, who will presumably do something along the lines of save the day. Come see the future of Deus Ex, tomorrow at 09:00PT/12:00ET/18:00CEST on http://t.co/cyr5xIE3fm. #CantKillProgress pic.twitter.com/bJS5Gf2gUu — Deus Ex (@DeusEx) April 7, 2015 Not to be completely beaten by the leaked news, the Deus Ex Twitter feed has posted up that a likely game reveal will be happening tomorrow (or today) on April 8th at 9:00am PST, ...
